Emergency crews now on the scene.  Note Dan Gurney in his red Lotus Mk.19 making his way through the chaos.  I don't think they delayed the race.  In today's world we'd get at least a safety car and probably a full-course stoppage.  Modern fuel cells are designed to prevent exactly this kind of potentially fatal catastrophe.
