* This particular event at Willow Springs Raceway was a time-trials.  Cars were timed individually  for one lap.  Bob’s time is a remarkable: 1:52 .  He was second only to Jerry Austin driving a Jaguar D –- an all-out competition race car who turned 1:47.8 .  Third place car was Chuck Porter’s Mercedes 300SLS (the star of “Devil’s Hairpin): with a 1:53 .
