Building Larry's "Desert House" -- 10

This huge and important part of the job turned out pretty well.  To highlight the stones, I used a cold chisel to hammer away excess concrete.

Each stone got this "Chipping" treatment.   A lot of work, but worth it aesthetically.

In spite of sealing the "face" of the stones with newspaper, wet concrete still oozed in, sometimes obscuring as much as half of a stone's face.  Chipping eliminated this problem.

Also, judicious chipping helped highlight especially good-looking stones and gave me control over the wall's final "look".

The living room wall in its finished form.

Note the corner.  I used specially selected stones to try for a clean line running up this visually prominent feature of the house.

This highly visible section of the living room back wall also received our best efforts.

It's a good example of stone selection and chipping technique.
