the pix, I note the #118 car is indeed a Lancia, and the venue is Santa
Maria (the present day go kart track is where this photo was shot).

"It's
a Lancia Aurelia Spider America (B24S). About 350 were made, total, in
'55-56. I learned to drive on one in the '60s and drove it till it
turned to dust. They were 2.5 liter V6 with 4-speed transaxel and
inboard (rear) brakes; front suspension was by sliding
pillar, perfect 50-50 weight balance. One of the most beautiful
cars ever. Not fast, but once rolling there was no need to brake since
it held the road like a suction cup. WIldly valuable now."
