Morgensen Special -- Torrey Pines

From Michael Jacobsen:  "Morgensen Special being towed away from same place as Sullivan's flip, but Mrs. Pritchess died in the car."  Comments:   Please email me!

(7-19-09)  From Chuck Fawcett:

"This is not the same location as the Sullivan Singer flip.  This accident occurred at Turn #1, the Sullivan acident was at Turn #4, if my memory hasn't completely crashed!  Wasn't the ladies name Pritchard?

(7-21-09  From author Tony Adriaensens:

"Yes, that's the Morgensen Special which Margaret Pritchard spun out and flipped in turn 1 -- she was trying to out-gun Josie von Neumann in her Ferrari.  This was the sixth running at Torrey Pines but the first time the SCCA organised it."

(12-15-13)   From Bill Tibbetts:

"I was watching the race from a spot just past the corner on the outside of Turn 1, and saw the car come up the straight section too fast.  The car started around the corner then left the paved track, the wheels caught in the dirt, and the car flipped, landing squarely upside down, right in front of me, though several yards away.  It was an awful thing to witness."
