John Quackenbush -- Ferrari 500TR / Ted Boynton -- Maserati A6GCS

Amazing similarity between the Elva Mk.1 and the Maserati A6CGS.   Comments:  Please email me!

(7-26-09)  From historic racer Bob Engberg:

"I'm pretty sure that photo #4 shows Chuck Dietrich in his Elva MK I, one of the first Elvas in the US if not the first."

(7-26-09)  From Antoine Legrand:

I identified the race and some drivers at Road America:

Race 3   (June 23, 1956)

#5      Jim Kimberly              OSCA MT-4
#6      Ebby Lunken              Ferrari 500 TR  (s/n 0612MDTR)
#7      Ted Boynton               Maserati A6GCS
#30    Bob Goldich                Ferrari 500 Mondial  (s/n 0536MD)
#61    Briggs Cunningham   OSCA MT-4
#75    John Quackenbush    Ferrari 500 TR  (s/n 0634MDTR)
#212  Mike Marshall         Porsche 550 Spyder

(7-27-09)  From historic racer Bob Engberg:

"Now that the photo is "live" and big enough to see, I agree #7 is not an Elva but a Maserati. And it is not a coincidence that the Falcon body on the Elva looks like a baby A6GCS.. it was supposed to!"
