Don Hulette -- 2
Even on a tight course like Del Mar,
Hulette finessed the big, heavy Jag-Chevy around faster than the lighter,
more agile Porsche and Lotus cars. |
Just haybales and rubber cones on a
parking lot.
Nobody ever compared Del Mar to Riverside
or Laguna Seca. |

Hulette holds court by the Jag-Chevy
in the pits.
Scooter Patrick stands next to him.
Can anyone identify the others in the photo?
Hulette, a film
director and concert pianist, had the master's touch with some of the
hairiest iron in California racing |
The conversation over, Hulette and Patrick
do battle on the racecourse.
Patrick
won after Hulette DNF'd. |
