Looking healthy and happy, Sir Stirling Moss was still convalescing from the horrific April 24, 1962 accident at Goodwood that ended his top-level driving career.

He added his knowledge and experience to Aston Martin's 1963 LeMans effort.

"A friend forwarded a link to your excellent photographs from Le Mans in 1963. Some great images there but I thought I'd point out that Stirling Moss did not, I hope, give Aston the benefit of his experience since he was employed there as the team manager for AC Cars Ltd who had entered a Cobra in order for Ford and Shelby to evaluate the situation for a proper attempt in 1964. AC paid Stirling the princely sum of £120 for him and his
'secretary'."
