This photo was taken by Ed Matsuishi's friend, Kurt Walbert, at the Italian Grand Prix, held September 8, 1963 at Monza.  Phil Hill qualified 14th and finished 11th in the race.

(1-29-11)   From Ed Matsuishi:

"This was a very historic period for F1 drivers from the U.S.  There were five in the 1963 German Grand Prix: Phil Hill, Ritchie Ginther, Dan Gurney, Jim Hall, and Tony Settember; and they all survived to safely retire."
