Start of German GP

A cloud of tire smoke from the standing start billows around at least two dead cars.  Can anyone ID these two early casualties.  Did they manage to get started and continue the race?

(2-5-11)   From Scott Sperka:

"Based on the paint job, unless this is a serious case of light and shadows, the nearest car that did not get off with the green flag is a Scirocco.   It would have been a participant in this race.  Per your link in a previous Ed photo, there were 2 present, both of which retired and credited with 5 laps each, so whichever is in the photo did get underway, though briefly.  The writeup also says that Jack Brabham in a Brabham-Climax was "left behind on the grid", so that may be the other car pictured, though through the cloud of tire smoke, it is almost impossible to even see clearly.  Brabham is credited with 7th place, so he too got underway."
