Dick Thompson -- Corvette Stingray Prototype  (1)

Thompson finished 11th in the original "Stingray" Prototype.  This car evolved from the "Practice mule" that supported the 1957 Corvette SS entry at Sebring.

"Keep in mind that the proper name of his car was Sting Ray, not Stingray. Also, it never had Corvette before the name, since it was a private effort by Bill Mitchell. Only by 1963, when the production Sting Ray came out, did it become Corvette Sting Ray."
