Ken Miles won the main event in Otto Zipper's Porsche RS60 after Bob Drake in Joe Lubin's Maserati Type 61 "Birdcage" was slowed by mechanical problems.

A sad photo.  Sam Weiss (in white sweater) was killed in a crash at Turn 4 shortly after this photo was taken.  The car is the 2-liter Cooper Monaco driven to 6th place at the "L.A. Examiner Grand Prix" at Riverside by Jack Brabham on April 3, 1960. The car was later campaigned very successfully in Northern California by George Grinzewitsch, and later by Bart Martin with Chevy power.
