Always overshadowed by the legendary Mercedes-Benz 300SL "Gullwing Coupe" the smaller, relatively underpowered 190SL was rarely raced. 

Cox's 1900cc. car is an example of the very rare and almost unheard of  (Your webmaster had never heard of it before) "SLR" variant.  (Go to THIS LINK and scroll down to learn about these cars.)  Cox finished 26th.
