Mercedes-Benz SLR celebrates the formidable 300-SLR race cars of the
1950s. The SLR McLaren combines classic Mercedes-Benz design cues with
modern technology.. With a full carbon-fiber monocoque, the SLR is powered
by a 617 horsepower super- charged 5.5-liter V8 that accelerates the car
from 0- 60mph in 3.7 seconds. The top speed exceeds 200 mph. |

At the 2006 Monterey Historics, the
three SLRs that ran exhibition laps were painted in traditional
Mercedes-Benz racing silver. |
