was the 4500cc.V8 450S. Bruce McCaw exits Turn 5 in the #4503
car; he finished 14th in the race.
The Maserati factory campaigned these
cars in the classic events of the 1950s. LeMans, Sebring, the Targa
Florio, and the Mille Miglia were the battlegrounds where Maserati challenged
Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, Aston Martin, and the other great factory
teams of the era.
