"H" Modified and finished 2nd overall in Saturday's Class
G and H Modified support race for the 1958 L.A. Times Grand Prix.

500 TR. Weiss, a well-known and successful Northern California
driver, DNF'd after only one lap in Sunday's Grand Prix.

"Yes, this is Sam Weiss' Testa Rossa
s/n
0636 MDTR. He bought this car during the 14th Palm Springs Road Races
in 1958 after the prelim (John von Neumann finished 5th OA) and raced it
in the main event, also 5th OA.
The picture must have been taken before
the start because he was registered with start number # 155. Weiss qualified
in 21st position on Saturday but did only 1 lap in the main event on Sunday.
In 1959 the "redhead" changed hands to Ed Vincent." |
