Butch Gilbert -- 1959 Hagemann-Sutton Special  (1)

Butch Gilbert of Westley, CA, drove the 5300cc. 1959 Hagemann-Sutton Special  to 16th place on Sunday.  He finished 18th on Saturday.

This large and unusual-looking car has a strange history.  It began life as a Talbot Grand Prix car, and later acquired this body crafted by SoCal fabricator Jack Sutton. It  was raced as a "Talbot Special" in Southern California in 1960 powered by its original 4500cc. straight-six Talbot GP engine.
