Raffi Minasian's Giaur
From Raffi: "Good evening Racers!! I am attempting
to gather more info on my 1953 Giaur and was wondering if you had any racing
information that I might be able to add about my car in the period from
1960-1970 in Ca, Az, Texas, and other west coast state races."

More from Raffi: "Wanted - any information on my 1953 Giaur
Champion 750. Chassis number BT-030 (Berardo Taraschi).
Chalmers Hall (of Little
Digger H Mod Fame) imported the car in 1959 from Italy. I purchased
it in 1973 from Walter Walton of Pleasanton, CA. I have records of Walton
owning the car as far back as 1964 but it is possible another person owned
it between Hall and Walton. Originally sold in 1953 to Ciarelli by Taraschi,
the car has both Italian and
US competition history that I would like to complete.
There is some information from the early 1960's that indicates John
Amodeo raced this car in El Paso, Texas but I am not certain of his ownership." |
|
"If anyone knows of any of the races this car competed in throughout
the West Coast from 1959-1970 please email me at info@raffim.com Vintage
photos or Hmod race history
greatly appreciated." |

"I have owned this car since
I was 11 years old and have shown it at Pebble Beach in 2002, Concorso
in 2001, Palo Alto Concourse in 2003 and it has been in the SF Chronicle
as well as been featured on two TV shows and some minor web exposure.
I did race it a long time ago in L.A. but only on practice runs on the
track and never in sanctioned events." |
