Entry Planter?  Or Pit Wall?  Or...?

Bill Wilkman identified this wall as the remains of the "Entry Planter".
 

Jason Trew sees it as "part of the pit wall on the frontstretch."

I wonder...  Could the earth bank in the background be the outside of Turn 9? 

The hills are to the east of the old course -- we're looking to the northeast in this photo.
