when he suffered a broken clutch cover in the day's warmup session.
Gallant leads Mac during Saturday's
race. His strong-running 289 car was a fair match for Archer's later
model 427. With Mac gone, Gallant won on Sunday.
Mac set things right by the end of Saturday's
event and squeezed by Gallant for the win.
