Sam Phillips' Customized & Supercharged MGA

Interesting revision of the MGA from this front view.

Now we know what's under that big scoop.

From Sam Phillips:

"The car was owned by Bob Lester; he died in 1966 at the age of 43.  Bob was married to Julie and there were 2 premises: one was listed as (Service) 2306 East 71st Street  Chicago 49 Illinois. MI 3-3113.  The 2nd place was listed as Foreign Car Hospital, (Sales), 5340 Lake Park Avenue, Chicago 15 Illinois DO 3-0707.

Known mechanics:  Joe Manka (head mechanic), Ray Shelhaze.  The bodyman's first name was Carlos (I don't know his second name).

Bob also raced cars.  The team manager was Maj (An Irishman ,I don't know his second name).   Team drivers were Terry Jesk, John Hill, Jon Do, Ron Latelellia, and Bob Hatley.  The team was known as "Team Wink" with a logo on each side of the fender.

Places raced:  Meadowdale, Elkhart Lake, Wilmot, with the SCCA Chicago Region and Midwest Council.  Terry Jesk is helping out as is Ross Fossbender (my gratitude to both). If anyone can help with any information on the car or any of the people, places, or anything at all, it would be helpful."
