A fixture at Northern California historic racing events, Blain's 4967cc. car is always a crowd favorite.  It appears that the riding mechanic is maintaining fuel pressure with the bicycle pump-like device in his right hand.  Blain and his courageous (and un-named) riding mechanic finished 15th, credited with completing 5 laps.
