Group 4 -- Old Favorites
Some of my favorite 1950s sports/racers
ran in this race. Always great to hear the Ferrari V12 scream of
the Testa Rossas. Another apocryphal factoid: Is it true that harmonics
from the timing chains are the source of the famous sound? This would
be the 12-cylinder version of running your finger around the rim of a cocktail
glass. ?????????

David Love of Berkeley, CA, won his
event at the first Monterey Historics in 1974. He's competed at Monterey
every year since then. Here's the history of his beautiful car, Ferrari
Testa Rossa #0754. |

Tom Price in his 1957 Maserati 200SI.
Was there ever a prettier Italian sports/racer? This car has the
2.5 liter "kit" that Maserati provided to upgrade the cars to 250S specifications.
(I'm sure the historians will jump all over me if I'm wrong about this
factoid! TM)
