Jaguar powered Mystery Car!

Richard Meadows of the UK asked me for help in identifying this car:

Hi Tam...

Can you identify this car?  I was told it came from Indiana.  The chassis and running gear are Jaguar XK150 from 1958.  The headlamps are pop-ups.  Please, can you help?

Yours,  Richard Meadows    United Kingdom

1960s northern California racer Chuck Tannlund offers his memories of this car:

Hi Tam,

Re: your new mystery car photo, I believe it to be the Cozzi Jaguar Special.

About 1957, D.O. (Dan ) Cozzi  commisioned Nadeau  ( Nate ) Bourgeault to build a Jaguar special for him while he was living in Italy. I only remember the car racing a couple of times. This car was really beautiful when it was finished but never enjoyed any success that I can remember. I can recall it was entered as a Cozzi Jaguar, D.O. Cozzi, driver.

Nate built the car at his Sausalito, Ca. shop which he shared with another icon of northern California racing, Bill Breeze Sr.  Nate died quite a few years ago but I don't know about Bill. I do know one of Bill's sons, Joe Breeze lives in Marin County & is himself famous in the mountain bike business. He may have additional info or pictures of the car.

I hope this info is of help to you.

Regards,
Chuck Tannlund
