Shirley had little trouble winning Wednesday's Group 1 final.  Meyer finished 2nd.

Shirley's car was driven "back in the day" by southern California sprint car ace Bob Edmison.   Another west coast Costin Lister was northern California driver Dave Ridenour's Jaguar-powered car.

Ridenour sold his Lister to Ted Peterson, who rolled the car exiting Turn 6 at Riverside during qualifying for the 1962 "L.A. Times Grand Prix" at Riverside  (I saw this happen).  Here's Dave Friedman's shot of Peterson before the accident.  The car never raced again in California.

Up in the Pacific Northwest Lew Florence raced a third Costin Lister.  Here's Dave Friedman's shot of Florence in his Chevy- powered car at the  1962 L.A. Times GP at Riverside on Oct. 14 1962.   (Rob Walton owns and races this car today.)  (Funny.  I'd forgotten that Bruce Canepa drove Walton's Lister at the Monterey "RMMR" last year.  No wonder he was so fast in the red car!)
