Roger Penske -- Zerex Special: Laguna Seca
Penske climbs
the hill after Start/Finish on his way to
a win at the Oct. 21, 1962 Pacific Grand Prix.
The car was rebuilt from a wrecked Cooper F1 car. It retained
the formula car's central-seating position, which caused an uproar at the
time. It met the letter of the SCCA rules of the time, as did the
earlier "Bobtail"
Cooper, which also had central-seating for the driver.
The car later became the first
of the racing McLarens.
