Epsman, a strong contender in Group 5A, had a very bad moment in Saturday's final.  His car lost a wheel in Turn 4 and hit the tire wall.  The wheel went on an adventure of its own, and first reports had it hopping the catch-fence and landing in the big grandstand at Turn 4, with spectator injuries.  Not so, as it turned out, but a close call.

Thompson was a non-starter in the Group 5A final.
