Don Hulette -- Jaguar-Corvette -- After Breakdown
in the Esses
In 1959, the archaic "one car at a time" qualifying system was still
used. (It's still used at Indy). So there wasn't much disruption
after Hulette's car broke, and the tow crew could turn him around and return
him to the pits the short way.
