Shirley finished 5th in his 3000cc. Ferrari.  The car was raced in Ethiopia in 1954 by Guido Petracchi.  Historic racer Colin Crabbe found the car in the African nation in 1970 and brought it to the UK.

Shirley had a busy week.  Two days after his run at Sonoma in the Ferrari he raced the ex-Bob Edmison Lister-Chevy at  the HMSA "LSR" event at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
