Chuck Parsons  (1)

Chuck bought Birdcage Maserati #2463 from Jim Hall in 1961.  He won at Vaca Valley Raceway on August 20th, then won again at Stead AFB near Reno on Sept. 24.  He was competitive in the fall Pro races at Riverside and Laguna Seca but didn't finish at Riverside with engine trouble.

After his amateur days Parsons went on to a solid international professional career.

At Laguna Seca on Oct. 22, 1961 he qualified 10th.  After a good start in the first heat he hit  Augie Pabst's spilled oil on the second lap and spun, along with six other cars.

He fought his way up a 12th place finish.  In the second heat he had no problems and finished a solid 6th.
