Chuck Sargent
drove the ex-Bill
Krause Maserati Type 61 #2469 in 1961. He won at
Stockton on April 15-16, then at Laguna Seca on June 10-11. Don
Hulette outlasted him at Cotati on July 16th.
Then he embarked on a tour of Mid-Western
pro races. At Continental Divide Raceway he and the Maserati ended
up UNDERNEATH Ron Hunter's Chevy powered OSCA. Sargent reappeared
for the fall pro races; he didn't qualify at Riverside, and finished well
back at Laguna Seca.
Sargent won again at Stockton
in 1962, this time on the street course.
