One of the most beautiful Italian sports/racers of the 1950s, the Maserati 300S was raced by the factory in international events in the mid-1950s.  In the early 1960s, two of these beauties were raced in California events.  Ron Dykes (and others) ran #3071 in Northern California races, while Bill Dixon campaigned #3077 in SoCal -- adding Chevy power in 1961.
