These longtime rivals battled at Santa Barbara on May 26,27, 1962.  The hard-fought main event featured a four-way battle between Miles, Krause,  Bob Harris in the Campbell Special, and Jack Nethercutt in his Lotus Mk.19.

Miles drove Otto Zipper's Ferrari 625TRC/V12 #0672, the ex-John von Neumann "hot rod" Ferrari.  He won the event after his rivals DNF'd.  Krause is driving the familiar Maserati Type 61 "Birdcage" #2452, the ex-Bob Drake, ex-Jim Connor car.
