The combination of Gurney's
driving skill, Lotus handling, and Ford power made the "Pace- setter" a
leader in the 1964 Fall pro races. "Pacesetter" was a good choice
for a name (It came from Gurney's sponsor "Pacesetter Homes") as the car
often "set the pace" early in a race but was rarely around at the finish.
The car is owned &
raced in historic events by Gordon
& Nancy Gimbel. |
