John Surtees-Graham Hill-Augie Pabst

In 1963 John Surtees was the #1 driver on the factory Ferrari team.  He brought a somewhat underpowered (for the era) 3-liter 250-P Ferrari and finished 4th in the "L.A. Times Grand Prix".

Surtees rounds Turn 7 ahead of Graham Hill's Lotus Mk.23 (10th place finisher) and A.J. Foyt (DNF) in the John Mecom-entered, ex-Lance Reventlow Scarab-Olds.

A correction from historian Willem Oosthoek:   "The third car is Augie Pabst in the 2-liter Mecom Lotus 19/Climax, not A.J. Foyt in the Mecom Scarab."
