Skip Hudson -- Ferrari 412 MI

Hudson couldn't qualify the ultra-potent one-of-a-kind Ferrari (#0744).  This complex car was a challenge for anyone to prepare, even the factory.   It never ran right for Bill Harrah, the owner in 1961.

After this race, I can't recall it appearing again until Steve Earle drove it at the first Monterey Historics.   Current owner Chris Cox now has it running beautifully, probably better than it ever did "back in the day".

A memory to cherish from the 2007 Monterey Historics was seeing and hearing Bert Skidmore tear up Laguna Seca in the 412 MI.  He ran test laps at red-line (or beyond) with 10/10ths cornering on a Thursday test run.   Maybe Phil Hill or Richie Ginther got as much or more out of the car, but not by much.
