Believe it or not, this photo has "Contrast" bumped up to 60 in Photoshop.  Before the edit only the lights were visible.

The "Safety Car" circulated the course every few minutes checking on conditions.  The Group 1B qualifying race was delayed for one hour, and started in what were still less than optional conditions.
