Skip Hudson -- Ferrari 410S  (1)

At first your webmaster thought this car was a Cobra, but three 1950s Ferraris in the background prove otherwise.  #88 is John Edgar's Ferrari 410S, #16 is Gordie Glyer in his Ferrari 500TR, and #102 is Jack Nethercutt in his Ferrari 500TRC.

Your webmaster learned that this car is a Ferrari 410S #0596CM.  Skip Hudson finished 3rd in the car at the "L.A. Examiner Grand Prix" held at Pomona on March 8, 1959.

"The dark blue car behind Skip's right shoulder may be the OSCA that Tim Considine entered for Harry Hanford at the Pomona Examiner Grand Prix. Both Tim and Hanford owned OSCA racers. Tim might remember who owned this one.   Marie Dixon lists it as DNF, motor froze."

"It was my car, driven before by my pal Gene Curtis, who rightly thought 
Harry would do the car more justice and convinced me to bring him on. 
To my knowledge, Harry's only association with OSCA was in mine.    He 
was a good shoe.  And you can always pick him out of photos, as he was  tall and kind of stuck out of the car.  I believe he was second-fastest  Under-1500 qualifier at Pomona for the Examiner GP, behind only Bob 
Drake in the Cooper.  It was quite a stellar field, with Trintignant and  von Trips, among others in the class.   Let me know, please, if you come 
across any better pictures of the car.  That's Harry in the car and I believe  I can just be seen, with dark glasses on, behind whoever he's talking to."
