CSRG "Charity Challenge"  Friday, Oct. 4 2013

Friday afternoon offered open practice to CSRG entrants.  Quite a few drivers availed themselves of this opportunity.

All proceeds from gate tickets, charity track rides, and raffle ticket sales benefit the "Speedway Children's Charities of Sonoma".  This year's 10th anniversary running drew an entry of 253 historic racing cars and a record turnout of paying spectators.  The very popular "Charity Rides" yielded $40,000.  All in all, this tremendously successful event increased its charitable contributions by 40% over last year.

Already scheduled for this weekend and featured in the event program was a tribute to founding CSRG member David Love.  Love passed away on Friday, October 4th 2013, which made the weekend's tribute especially poignant.
