Vic Elford drove the Chaparral
2J "Sucker car" on demonstration laps. On Saturday the car ran
with "big engine only" but on Sunday the snowmobile "sucker" engine was
running too. The small engine ran at a constant RPM and could be heard
all the way around the course.

Krause in Dr. Ernie Nagamatsu's Old
Yeller II leads Don Knowles in Rob Walton's Scarab
through Turn 5. Knowles won the event. Krause's 6th place finish
marked his return to competition after a 40 year layoff. The old
pro was smooth & fast and plans to continue with historic racing.

Stirling Moss drove his 1955 Mille Miglia winning Mercedes-Benz
300SLR on demonstration laps to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Mercedes-Benz's
world sports car championship. His passenger was Jay
Leno, prominent car collector and enthusiast as well as a popular late
night comedian. (Not all website visitors are Americans familiar
with Jay!)
